Idea Three

Then I thought of including other parts of the landmass like southern Asia and Australia, I also thought of extending it to booth coasts on all continents.
More people could participate , like you can see in the map from yesterday, and there would also be a possibility for a race, from one end to the other in either direction.

Think about the fun we could have.

Next Idea

My next idea was to cover the distance by means of relay, like having someone in each part of a country cover the distance by either running or walking or in a wheelchair or such thing,

From there the idea was that we may be able to involve schools, or community groups and maybe sponsor them in some other country’s to by maps for the schools, we also could involve local TV stations to cover the trip and screen it on TV around the world, and follow the trip via Internet

First Idea

The idea I came up with in 92 was easy, I would walk the length of the island starting on the most southern point of South America, to North America over to Russia then Europe and via Spain into Africa and along the West Coast to Southern Africa.

That's what it looked like at the time, it was an idea, a dream and then the procrastination set in.

I was not idle by any means, over the years I came up with lots of other plans to the same end, I did give up the idea of walking, and figured out other ways to travel.

A Space Ship

We have been around for a while; this is our only place, a small blue planet

Bucky saw it as a spaceship, if you want to know what it feels like to be an astronaut, just look out there, you are on a spaceship floating at high speeds through the universe.

Now when we think of the earth in this way, as a space ship, it does not make much sense that the bridge is fighting with the boiler room and the stewards with the kitchen, and nobody is paying any attention to where the ship is heading.

There is no manual with this ship, we have to figure it out by ourselves, make it up as we go along.

Until now we have made at times great decisions and at time very poor once.

So we better start telling the truth about our circumstances to our self’s and our kids, there is nowhere else to go for right now, and if this thing goes down we better know we go down with it.

I have a surprise for you; we are all part of this, as humans we are not apart from nature.

When Bucky designed the map he wanted to show one island in an ocean.

This map shows the most accurate depiction of the landmass, with less than 1% distortion of the landmass, we can see very clearly how big the southern hemisphere is in relation to the north and that Australia is bigger than Greenland.

This is not what I have learned in school, and it is not what is being taught in most cases today.

I also like the fact that I don’t see two continents separated be a big ocean, now I see one landmass spanning this planet.

The idea of One Island

The Idea came to me in 1992, I have been studying Buckminster Fuller (Bucky) for a few years, and wondering why his design of the Dymaxion Map is not more widely being used and how it could be promoted.

This blog is about the idea of traveling the entire length of the earth landmass in one more or less continues fashion.

As I will go along with this I will be putting my thought down and appreciating all other input if someone finds this blog on accident.
